Crop this Saturday

June 9th, 2008 by Sandie

Just a quick reminder that the monthly crop is this Saturday coming, June 14th. Anyone who hasn’t signed up for the crop and/or class would you please email or leave a comment below as kits have to be ordered in advance. We will be doing a great Father/Dad layout using delicious ‘Papa’ papers by Fancy Pants Designs :) To complete the layout you will need three 4×6 portrait photo’s (black and white are ideal, but not essential).

See you all Saturday

*Free parking is available in the multi storey on Main Street. Tickets will be validated at the hotel before you leave, but please note that the Main Street itself is now pay and display and there is clamping in operation*

A great turn out ;)

May 20th, 2008 by Sandie

Thank you all for attending the crop on Sunday. It was a great turn out and I was delighted to see a new face or two. The class layouts were all fantastic… and yes, I forgot the camera :( (not that I’ve quite figured out how to load pics onto here anyway, lol)

Thanks to Annamarie for bringing the store along, very must appreciated :), and for bringing the class kits too.

The next crop is on the 14th June, which is a Saturday. Father’s Day is the following day so this is a great opportunity to make the perfect gift….. you’ve guessed it.. the class will be of a ‘Father’s Day’ theme.

Details of photographs needed will be posted closer to the date, but black & white always works well on layouts.

Please sign up for the class early to ensure enough kits will be available on the day.

Again, thank you all for coming and looking forward to seeing you next month :)

Note on the class …

May 17th, 2008 by Sandie

Hi all,

Just a quick note to say that the DLO tomorrow will require two 6×4 photographs, one portrait and one landscape.. of course if you do not have the photographs with you they can be added later. There is also always the option of adding more than 2 photos to your layouts :) We will be using the delicious new BG Sugared Papers, supplied by Annamarie

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Crop on Sunday

May 15th, 2008 by Deborah

Hi ladies!  Just wanted to remind you of the crop coming up this Sunday.  It will be the last Sunday crop.

Same details as usual and Sandie has prepared another wonderful class for you, if you are interested.  The class is optional.

Details for Sunday the 18th:

What: May MCC Crop
Where: Days Hotel, Main Street, Tullamore
Who: Whoever wants to come!
Why: Why not?
Time: 1pm - 6???
Bring: Basic tools, CUTTING MAT, photos, any projects you want to work on!
Cost: €10 for crop only or €25 for class, kit and crop
Shops: The Scrapbook Store
Parking: Free parking on the road (not in Lidl) and in garage half a block down.  Your ticket can be validated at reception.

Personally I am taking a little break from organising things, as I am busy launching my new business.  I will be leaving you in excellent hands though! :)

Before I go though I need to ask if there’s enough interest to keep this going.  It is money out of our pockets (the room) and a waste of time for Annamarie if we don’t have enough people.  I am not trying to put pressure on anyone, just hoping you can leave a comment* below and let us know your thoughts!  Perhaps once a month is too much?  All feedback is gratefully appreciated and it would be especially helpful if you could let us know you’ll be there on Sunday!

Thanks!

Again, a big thank you to all who attended the crop yesterday. There were a few hiccups but it all came good in the end :) Apologies to those who called and were told there was no crop, there was a bit of a mix-up! Hope to see you next month.

Thanks to Annamarie for bringing the shop and all the new delightful crafty goodies.

I hope everyone who participated in the class had a good time. For those who didn’t finish their kit, please bring it along next time.. I’d love to see it.

Next month we will most likely do a double layout and I will post details of what photos you will need to bring closer to the date.

The next crop is on Sunday 18th May @ 1pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone again then.

A huge thank you…..

April 1st, 2008 by Sandie

…to everyone who attended the crop last Sunday. It was a great day, and I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves as much as I. It was fantastic to see the familiar faces from last months crop.

And of course a big thanks to AnnaMarie for bringing the shop ;)

If anyone would like to submit a picture of the projects they worked on please email me and I will be happy to add the pictures.

Next month I intend to run a class. If you are interested in doing the class then leave a comment or, again, email me so that I can get an idea of numbers.

Crop on Sunday the 17th

February 13th, 2008 by Deborah

Hi everyone!  We’re looking forward to a great day on Sunday!

Sandie has put together a great class to teach us how to make exploding pyramids.   There is no cost for the class, but you will need to provide your own materials.  You will need:

  • 3 12×12 pieces of card stock
  • Coordinating papers to cover and decorate it
  • Matching Embellishments and ribbon
  • Ruler
  • Guillotine / Paper Trimmer
  • Glue
  • Craft Knife
  • A 2.5″x2.5″ photo for the centre
  • Tiny photos for the tabs (optional)

These make wonderful gifts, so think about your theme.  Are there any new babies in the family or birthdays coming up?  Sandie recommends using 12 pictures for baby’s first year with the middle being their 1st birthday photo as an alternate idea.  They would make a unique and special present.  You could also pick a holiday theme such as upcoming Mother’s Day or Easter!  Think about it and pick your papers and cardstock accordingly.  Annamarie from The Scrapbook Store will be on hand too with a large selection of papers if you don’t have anything in your stash!

I will also be doing a short origami “make and take.”  You will learn how to make cute 3D flowers for cards and layouts or just for fun.  I will provide origami paper, but if you like you can use any thinner 6×6 patterned paper.

Just to recap, the crop will be at the Days Hotel in Tullamore from 1pm to 6pm.  Feel free to drop in at anytime!  It’s on Main Street, just across from Lidl.  For directions, click here or email me!

Bring whatever projects you are working on and basic supplies.  If you would like to bring completed projects, crads or scrapbooks, please do so as there will be a display table to share your creative genius!

We will also be having a challenge.  Make a name badge or card for your seat!  Most creative design wins a small prize, to be announced!

Look forward to seeing you Sunday.  If you haven’t already let us know you will be there, please do so in the comments!  Thanks!
